People on the move: Legat Owen; Exchange Chambers; V4 Woodflooring; Champion Accountants

Chester-based commercial property consultancy Legat Owen has appointed a new associate director to support the continued expansion of its asset management department.

Tom Creer is a chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer who has spent the last 17 years working in private practice in Chester.

During this time, he has advised clients on a wide range of commercial property matters across Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales.

In his new role, Creer will provide bespoke asset management and property consultancy to Legat Owen’s existing client base.

Exchange Chambers has continued its expansion with the arrival of criminal and regulatory specialist Ian Whitehurst as a new member.

Called to the Bar in 1994, Whitehurst joins from 7 Harrington Street Chambers in Liverpool. He specialises in heavyweight criminal and fraud work with an emphasis on homicide, drug trafficking, tax fraud, regulatory and confiscation law and is ranked by both the Legal 500 and Chambers UK.

Whitehurst said: “I am delighted to join the Northern powerhouse, Exchange Chambers. I am looking forward to further developing my practice, which focusses on serious crime, fraud and regulatory work, at such a dynamic and progressive Set.”

V4 Woodflooring has appointed Lee Harris to its sales team.

Harris will work across the North West, including Cheshire, Manchester, North Wales, Cumbria, the Isle of Man and Merseyside.

The 51-year-old, who lives in Saddleworth, Greater Manchester, joins V4 Woodflooring from Cormar Carpets.

He has 35 years’ experience in the flooring sector and a reputation as one of the top performing sales people, priding himself on excellent customer service.

Business advisory group Champion Accountants has appointed a new client manager at its Preston office.

Jonathan Robinson rejoins the practice in Riversway after previously working for Champion for four years before moving into industry as an in-house financial controller with a North West manufacturer and distributor of pipeline inspection systems.

Robinson said: “I wanted exposure to both industry and practice, which has given me the chance to see both perspectives and also the challenges and opportunities that come with running your own business.”
