Tindall Perry hires principal consultant to scout financial talent

James Calland Smith

Independent recruitment specialist Tindall Perry Partnership has appointed James Calland Smith as principal consultant to find talent for its fast-growing finance division.

James’ role is to recruit qualified accountants for salaries between £50,000 and £100,000 a year.

In joining the Didsbury, Manchester company run by managing director Leyla Tindall he teams up again with Tindall Perry finance division head Daniel Simmonite, who arrived at the firm in September 2017.

Smith and Simmonite previously worked together at global recruiter Robert Walters’ Manchester base.

Smith, 33, said: “The approach Tindall Perry takes to recruitment and the people were a huge influence on my decision to join the company.

“Having worked with Daniel previously, I trusted his judgement. After meeting Leyla it was easy to see this was a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected and forward-thinking business.

“For me the biggest difference Tindall Perry has compared to its rivals, is that the company doesn’t work with just anyone. They are very specific about the terms they will work at and the buy-in they demand from their clients.”

Smith, who was brought up in Cumbria, now lives in central Manchester and is a keen skier and golfer.

His appointment is the latest in a series by the company, following the following the recruitment of Michael Avis as director and Cath Priestley as candidate manager in its Executive brand during 2017.

Tindall said: “As the business looks to grow it is essential that we hire people that closely meet the high values to which Tindall Perry have become synonymous. In that sense we are delighted that James has joined us to help us to continue to build the Tindall Perry Finance division as we continue to grow the team, our offering and market share.

“James will play a pivotal role in terms of client delivery but will also be crucial in our growth journey as we look to expand further and increase our reach across the senior finance market.”
