Building Blocks rebrands as Dept

Manchester digital agency, Building Blocks, has undergone a rebrand to Dept.

Building Blocks, along with 12 other agencies operating across eight countries are all coming together under the one name, Dept, to form a new international digital agency.

Building Blocks, who implement and integrate CMS platforms, as well as providing digital strategy, design and ongoing support services to global enterprise organisations, will continue to specialise in these areas but will work together with sister agencies to offer additional digital services.

Building Blocks says its clients will now get access to extensive expertise in marketing automation, video production, brand identity and ecommerce, among others.

Dimi Albers, managing director at Dept, said: “Dept started as a network of specialist agencies working together to bring innovation and acceleration to our clients’ marketing, digital products and services ambitions.

“This has benefited a number of our joint clients who now work daily with integrated Dept teams combining our creative, technology and data experts.

“We believe that working as an integrated team aligns well with our clients’ integrated brands so we have decided to all come together to become a single agency, Dept.”

Dept, with a turnover of more than £69m, creates digital solutions for brands such as Butlin’s, Zalando, Triumph Motorcycles and Formula E.

The newly formed digital agency will service existing clients from their headquarters in Amsterdam and offices across Europe and North America.

The agencies in Germany and Denmark will follow suit later this year.

Building Blocks was founded in 2007, and its multidisciplinary team operates globally.
