Specialist lawyers from Cumbria’s leading corporate team have advised on the sale of a major hotel and conference centre in North Wales.

Burnetts advised the Byers family on the sale of the 106-bedroom Beaufort Park Hotel and Conference Centre to JDP Hotels.

The sale of the Beaufort Park in Mold was for an undisclosed sum, and its 80 staff will remain employed by the new owners.

The transaction was led by Corporate Partner Michael Walby, with support from Solicitor Rebecca Davidson and Partner Robbie Mather advising on property matters.

David Byers of Beaufort Park Hotel Limited said: “The all-round guidance and support from Burnetts throughout the sale process was exceptional.

“Their experience and dedication made life so much easier for us – I couldn’t recommend them highly enough”.

Michael Walby, Burnetts added: “There is significant confidence in the hospitality market at the moment, and this is one of a number of major transactions we have ongoing in the sector.

“We are delighted to have advised on the sale of the Beaufort Park Hotel, and we wish the team every success under its new ownership.”

The sale of Beaufort Park Hotel follows the sale of The Crown Hotel in Wetheral, Cumbria in November 2017.

Ian Lancaster of NB Lancaster advised the Byers family on accounting matters. Ryan Lynn of Christie & Co. successfully secured the sale for the Byers family.   Paul Tyrer and Steven Percy from SAS Daniels LLP advised JDP Hotels 2 Ltd.

“There are many considerations to buying a business of this size, but we’ve been able to assist Pranay and his team to complete on the purchase with minimal disruption to all the involved parties. We wish them the best of luck as the new owners of Beaufort Park Hotel.”

Pranay Paw, Founder and Managing Director of JDP Hotels, said: “Beaufort Park Hotel was an obvious investment choice for us as we increase the number of hotel properties in our portfolio.

“Its location, being near Chester, Snowdonia and historic Welsh castles, is coupled with its reputation both locally and within the industry. We would like to thank all those involved in the process and we’re excited to now be able to move forward with our plans for Beaufort Park.”

Also involved in the deal, was Steven Percy from SAS Daniels’ commercial property team, whilst Dudley-based Higgs and Sons acted for NatWest who provided funding for the deal.
