Ruabon move for coatings specialist as sale completes

Industrial specialist LM6 has announced the purchase of Units 1 and 2, Vauxhall Industrial Estate, near Ruabon, Wrexham for £1.2m from The Centaur and Barclay Property Group on behalf of private investors.

The units have been comprehensively refurbished and combined to provide industrial warehousing with office space which extends to 40,980 sq ft.

They were pre-let to manufacturer Thompson Coating Solutions, which is involved in laminated and coated solutions onto particleboard, OSB and plywood.

The expansion for Thompson, whose current headquarters is based in the north east, enables them to improve operational efficiency in servicing one of their principal customers Kronospan, based in Chirk.

The move will create more than 20 jobs in Ruabon.

LM6’s Tony O’Keefe said: “Given the restricted supply of manufacturing and warehouse space in the region we were pleased to secure an off-market transaction where the vendor comprehensively refurbished the facility prior to acquisition.

“The new building is ideally placed for our client and will provide a sound foundation for the future growth of Thompson’s manufacturing capabilities.”
