Novo Property Group launches £3.5m Bowdon development

Greenbank House ground floor

Novo Property Group has launched a £3.5m residential development of five fully renovated apartments and a new build coach house in Bowdon, Altrincham.

Greenbank House is situated on Albert Square in Bowdon within The Downs Conservation Area.

The extensive restoration will see the transformation of the existing building into five high specification two-bedroom apartments, 800-1,200 sq ft respectively.

Originally built around 1850, its condition had fallen into decline in recent years.

The restoration works are extensive but sympathetic in nature to preserve the character of the building.

All of the original features including the deep skirting boards, tall ceilings with detailed cornice, wood panelling and sash windows are being retained.

Located in the grounds of the property, Novo has received full planning approval to replace the old garage block with a new high quality, single storey dwelling.

It will provide a contemporary counterpart to the original building.

The design uses local brickwork, large glazed windows and a bespoke sedum roof to offer additional green space.

Novo appointed bespoke home specialist architects, MaisonIOM, on the restoration, with local design practice, Project3, overseeing the new build element.

The project team also comprises contractor, Noble Projects, alongside project management company, Ilex, and mechanical and engineering firm, Project 23.

Each property is being fitted with modern facilities and residents of the six distinctive homes will benefit from landscaped grounds and on-site private parking.

Ben Fearns, managing director of Novo Property Group, said: “Greenbank House is a stunning building, which has unfortunately been neglected over the years and suffered from some poor architectural alterations.

“Realising its full potential, including retaining many of the features of the original building and introducing a striking new property to the area, was a truly collaborative effort.

“Appointing two architects on one scheme is unusual, but embracing the strengths of each practice has helped us to realise our vision for the site, preserving it for generations to come.

“The new build coach house is an exceptionally designed, thoroughly modern structure that complements its setting entirely.

“We’re thrilled to secure this building’s future and be bringing six wonderful homes to the local market.”

Work is under way and is expected to be completed in the summer. Prices will range from £350,000-£675,000.
