Construction begins on 68 new family homes in Prescot

The proposed Callenders Green development

Work has commenced at Callenders Green, a development of 68 new family homes in Prescot ,from housebuilder Stewart Milne Homes.

The 5.66 acre development is part of the former British Insulated Callenders Cables (BICC) site.

Stewart Milne Homes says it aims to contribute to the regeneration of the area with the creation of a new community of families and businesses on this once iconic site.

Plans for the development of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes follows approval from Knowsley Council in January.

The first phase of family homes is expected to be ready by this autumn, with the completion of all 68 homes expected by next summer.

The range of homes available at Callenders Green will focus on providing space for growing families.

Prices for a new home are expected to start from around £159,950, up to £339,950, with a variety of assisted buying schemes available, such as Help to Buy and Part Exchange.

Stephen Daintith, land director at Stewart Milne Homes, said: “Callenders Green will be a great addition to our growing portfolio of developments in the North West.

“Work is now well underway and starting to take shape.

“When complete, Callenders Green will offer buyers a choice of quality new homes in Prescot, available at a range of price points.

“We have already received significant interest from potential buyers, which reflects demand for our homes, as well as the popularity of the area and its location in the heart of Knowsley.”

Stewart Milne Homes has developments across the North West of England and plans to construct an additional 2,500 new homes in the region over the next five years.
