David Bowcock

Newly-arrived head of corporate, David Bowcock, has completed three deals for law firm Fieldfisher’s new corporate team.

Bowcock has followed an 18th acquisition for AIM-listed critical maintenance services group Marlowe plc with two additional deals for other clients.

A North West-based software company gained investment from a FTSE 100 listed retailer following the exit of it its original equity investor

Working with newly-arrived colleagues, banking partner Charlotte Round and corporate assistant Adam Jones, Mr Bowcock also completed AIM-listed document management group Restore plc’s £88m acquisition of TNT UK’s document management business.

This was funded by a £51m placing and £160m of debt from a newly expanded syndicate.

The completions come as the team further expands with the arrival of corporate partner Tom Ward from Fieldfisher’s London office.

He relocated to Manchester and has now been promoted to partner.

Mr Ward specialises in M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions and advises both large and fast growing corporates, investors, entrepreneurs and management teams across a number of sectors, and is particularly active in the technology, life sciences and healthcare sectors.

David Bowcock said: “We’re off to a great start.

“This will enable us to build on the platform provided by a firm which has just been voted Law Firm of the Year in both the British Legal Awards and the Legal Business Awards.”

Mr Ward said: “Our Manchester office is going from strength to strength and I’m very much looking forward to being part of that continued growth as we develop our corporate practice both in the North West and internationally.”
