A Michelin starred chef is to part company with the hospitality firm set up by former Manchester United stars Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs.

Michael O’Hare has announced he is to step down from his role as creative director for the Manchester based from GG Hospitality.

The chef has said he wants to concentrate on his Michelin starred restaurant The Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds.

Mr O’Hare has been with GG Hospitality for the last two years and he opened The Rabbit in The Moon in the Urbis building in central Manchester.

GG Hospitality has ambitious plans to roll out a number hotels and restaurants and recently strengthened its management team.

The Rabbit in The Moon will be run by head chef John Granaghan and general manager Charlotte Rasburn.
Giggs and Neville are planning to open their second hotel in Manchester hotel later this year.

Work has already started on a 40-bedroomed boutique hotel in the former Stock Exchange building.

The GG Hospitality brand includes three UK Café Football sites, the 133-bedroom Hotel Football Old Trafford, and GG Events and Catering.

Singapore based Rowsley acquired a 75% share-holding in GG Hospitality in 2015, with Neville and Giggs retaining a minority stake.

A new management team was appointed in readiness for the expansion last month.

GG Hospitality brought in former Island Hotels Group chief executive Winston J. Zahra as chief executive.

Chief finance officer Andy Floyd and head of PR and communications Kate Greville have also been appointed in newly created roles to strengthen the company’s leadership team.
