Manchester-based recruitment firm, Careermakers Recruitment, is poised for expansion after a seven-figure funding package from HSBC.

Established in 2008, Careermakers Recruitment specialises in industrial, construction and logistics recruitment across the North West.

The business has worked with HSBC to secure this multi-million pound funding package that will help it expand.

Careermakers Recruitment expects the growth to boost turnover by 20% in the next year.

The recruiter will use the funding to strengthen its teams in Manchester and Wigan and to open new branches.

At least 10 jobs will be created in sales and admin departments.

Directors Patrick Zahoor and Omair Akram have grown the business substantially over the past 10 years with the help of key staff and envisage future growth by investing in the right people.

Omair Akram said: “We have a strong and trusted reputation in contract and permanent placement across the region.

“We want to harness this success, expand further into construction, and enter new sectors such as mechanical engineering.

“The support from HSBC, both financially and through strategic business advice, has enabled us to take this leap forward and realise the company’s wider and long-term goals.”

Zubayr Atcha, HSBC’s relationship director for Greater Manchester, added: “Careermakers Recruitment team has a wealth of experience in the industry and a strong and clear vision of how to grow as an expert in its field.

“This track record, along with an inherent appetite to take on new challenges, is inspiring to see.

“Careermakers is exactly the kind of business we are excited to support.”

The deal was supported by HSBC Invoice Finance Business Development Manager, Richard Ford.
