A first taste of University Academy 92 – UA92

Gary Neville, centre, launching UA92

The inaugural UA92 open day will take place this Saturday, July 21, at Lancashire Cricket Club.

UA92 will open its doors to prospective students, their parents, local businesses and residents.

Co-founded by Gary Neville, part of Manchester United’s famous Class of 92, and Lancaster University, guests will experience a taste of the game-changing approach to higher education that UA92 says it will offer.

Attendees will hear from Gary Neville and Class of 92 teammate Ryan Giggs on the philosophy of UA92 and the inspiration to launch a university.

Sessions will outline how the courses have been developed to focus not just on academic achievement, but also to develop the talent and skills employers need from the graduate level employees of the future.

Skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork and resilience are fundamental to career success, whether in business, public service or, indeed, sport.

Guests will experience the UA92 vision through a virtual reality experience and an interactive exhibition featuring mindfulness and sprint tests, a virtual wicket from Lancashire Cricket Club and a commentating challenge.

There will be mock-ups and video representations of the campus and student halls.

UA92’s partners, Lancaster University, Microsoft and Lancashire Cricket Club, will also be at the event and will speak about why they are backing the UA92 vision.

Lancaster University, consistently in the top 10 in UK University rankings tables, developed the UA92 proposition with Gary Neville and will accredit the UA92 degrees.

Graduates from UA92 will benefit from strong links into a growing range of commercial partners through UA92’s commitment to offering work placements to every student as part of their degree.

Anyone interested in attending the event should register their interest on the UA92 website. Guests are welcome from 11am and the first session will start at 11.45am.
