Macclesfield convenience store sold to new entrant

The leasehold of a Spar branded convenience store in Macclesfield has been sold for £100,000 through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

Situated on the A537, the main road connecting Macclesfield to Knutsford and the Peak District, the well-maintained 1,300 sq ft retail space trades unopposed within the affluent community it serves.

The property also provides three bedroom owner’s accommodation on the first floor, accessed via a separate entrance, presenting an ideal lifestyle business for an owner-operator.

Previous owner, Piyush Parekm, took the decision to sell the store in order to relocate with his family.

Mr Parekm said: “Though we had only acquired the business on Chester Road a short time ago, we were presented with the opportunity to emigrate to Australia, where we have family. The opportunity was simply too good to pass up.”

New owner and first-time convenience store operator, Mrs Priyanka Mohanan, is an experienced business owner, having operated a number of successful fast food franchises.

Relocating from Merseyside in order to run the business, Mrs Mohanan said: “We were looking for an opportunity to acquire a convenience store for a little while, and this site ticked all our boxes.”

Ashley Cobban, business agent at Christie & Co, handled the sale and said: “The store is well placed on a busy road within an affluent area.

“The high levels of interest generated by this business and the speed of the sale are testament to the demand for high quality retail businesses in the area.”
