Westgrove Group wins second airport contract

Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Warrington facilities management specialist The Westgrove Group has won its second aviation contract this year.

The fast-growing company has been awarded the cleaning contract at Liverpool John Lennon Airport for the air traffic control building.

The Peel-owned airport has just broken through the 5m passengers mark for the first time since 2011.

The contract win follows hard on the heels of the company’s appointment as the cleaning and PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) provider for Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which is also owned by Peel.

The Westgrove Group has also recently won the contract to supply cleaning and security to St John’s Shopping Centre in Liverpool.

The company is celebrating its 20th year in business and provides cleaning and security services to more than 70 sites across the UK.

Westgrove Group managing director Claire McKinley Smith said: “We are delighted to secure this contract at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

“We have been building up our aviation strategy over the past 18 months as we saw it was a great fit with our existing specialised service provision, Synergy by Westgrove.

“This is our second aviation contact – in June we started the cleaning and PRM contract for Doncaster Sheffield Airport – and it’s the start of another successful sector for the company.

“We are also enjoying working with St John’s Shopping Centre and their high calibre centre management team.

The Westgrove Group is expanding across its core service areas of security, cleaning and customer service teams, increasing its market share in shopping centres and moving into new sectors.

The company is on track to grow its turnover to £40m by the end of 2021.
