Luxury Liverpool waterfront apartments completed

Primesite Developments has announced the completion of phase one of Strand Plaza, a £30m luxury residential development on Liverpool’s waterfront.

The office-to-residential conversion is believed to be the last property in development on The Strand, the city’s main thoroughfare.

The city-centre development is situated on Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage waterfront, across from the famous ‘Three Graces’ landmarks: the Liver Building, the Port of Liverpool Building and the Cunard Building.

The first eight storeys of Strand Plaza are now finished, with the first residents now occupying the building.

This amounts to 123 completed apartments, out of the total 135 planned.

The building comprises a mixture of luxury studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The next phase of the development will be the completion of the two top storeys: a ninth storey that replaced the building’s previous existing concrete parapet, and a 10th, lightweight storey, that will house two luxury penthouses dubbed “super-apartments”, each leading to its own private outdoor terrace with spectacular views of Liverpool.

Liverpool-based Primesite Developments purchased the disused former Ministry of Defence building in January 2017, beginning preparatory work immediately, and acquiring planning permission a year later for the two extra storeys and a further upper ground floor extension.

The planning and lead design architect on the project is Liverpool-based architecture firm Brock Carmichael.

“We wanted to bring something of real value to our local area. We are now working at pace towards the completion of the next, final phase of Strand Plaza.”

The majority of apartments are already sold ahead of completion, and Strand Plaza residents will be a mixture of owner-occupiers and renters. Primesite plans to keep a limited number on as to-let properties.
