Brand new work coming to the fair includes: Rob Pointon. Rob paints entirely en plein air and has a particular interest in the use of multiple-point perspective and capturing movement within his paintings, evidenced strongly with his depiction of crowds and transport.

Arusha Gallery have a brand new piece by Elizabeth Stewart, a fantastic textile artist who works with digitally women and hand appliquéd tapestry.

The images are based on old, black and white photographs, most commonly of her mother. The colours are woven into each other creating a pointillist appearance from up close which collate from a distance.

Renaissance-inspired artist Ian Rayer Smith said: “In a world preoccupied with technology, there is something remarkable about painting. It connects us back to man’s earliest and most elemental forms of self expression.

“I am not interested in painting something that already exists. My pressing urge is to use paint to explore new forms which will ultimately carry emotional weight.

“I try not to recreate an image. Instead, I may use it as a reference point by which to move from one painting to the next.
