Property boss to speak at Power of the North event

Chris Oglesby

The chief executive of Manchester’s biggest property firm is speaking at BusinessDesk.Com event next week.

Chris Oglesby, the head of Bruntwood, will be the keynote speaker at the event which is being held at the offices law firm Squire Patton Boggs in Spinningfields.

As a family-owned and run company, Bruntwood has always operated with a strong set of values.

This has led to Chris playing an active and leading role in many public and private sector initiatives and partnerships.

He is a board member at CityCo (Manchester’s city centre management company), the Piccadilly Partnership, Corridor Manchester (the city’s major knowledge economy initiative focused on its universities and hospitals) and the Irwell City Park initiative along the boundary between Manchester and Salford.

The businessman will be appearing alongside Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry at The Power of The North breakfast event on Friday, October 12th.

The event is the culmination of a six-month project that has been run by TheBusinessDesk.Com in conjunction with Squire Patton Boggs and accountants KPMG.

The State of the Region project has taken a close look at the opportunities and challenges facing business across the North.

As well as carrying analysis the campaign has included interviews, comment and coverage of discussion panels.

During the campaign we have been taking an in-depth look at a number of different sectors and the opportunities that exist in the key sectors including real estate, financial services, manufacturing, retail and technology.

Nicola Quayle, senior partner from KPMG, is also speaking at the event which is now fully booked.

Around 130 people from various businesses will be attending and a report on the speeches will appear on TheBusinessDesk.Com.
