Budget airline launches three new route for Liverpool

Robin Kiely launches the new routes

Budget carrier Ryanair has revealed three new routes for Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) as part of its Summer schedule for next year.

The Dublin-based airline will fly to Copenhagen, Corfu and Paphos, bringing its total range of Summer routes from LJLA to 34, spread over 131 weekly flights.

Flights to the Danish capital of Copenhagen will be twice weekly, the same as to the Greek island of Corfu, and Paphos, on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

Ryanair spokesman Robin Kiely said: “We are pleased to launch our Liverpool Summer 2019 schedule with 34 routes, including three new routes to Copenhagen, Corfu and Paphos.”

He added: “Customers in the North West region can now book flights to the sunshine as far out as October 2019.”

Liverpool John Lennon Airport spokesman Paul Winfield said: “We are delighted to welcome three new routes with Ryanair for Summer 2019 to Corfu and Copenhagen and Paphos.

“These routes will be popular for passengers from across the North West of England travelling from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.”

Today’s launch follows news that Thomas Cook launched eight destinations for package customers looking to travel from Liverpool John Lennon Airport next Summer.

This will be the first time in more than 10 years that the company has offered holidays from Liverpool.

Holidays to the popular hotspots of Lanzarote, Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Majorca, Algarve, Naples, Dalaman and Larnaca are available to book for travel between May and October 2019.

Chris Mottershead, Thomas Cook UK managing director, said: “We’re always looking for ways to make going on holiday easier and are excited to once again be offering Liverpool to our customers in the North West who want to get away from their local airport.”

Declan Maguire, aviation development manager at LJLA, said: “We are delighted that Thomas Cook will be offering passengers in the North West the opportunity to purchase quality package holidays to a selection of the 65+ leading destinations served from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, the faster, easier and friendlier airport in the North West.”
