Fast growing social media firm looking to conquer America

Social media firm Social Chain is planning a major expansion into the United States.

The Manchester based firm has enjoyed phenomenal success in recent years and is thought to be planning a flotation on the Stock Market in the next 12 months.

And the company, which specialises in social media marketing campaigns for major brands, is now concentrating its efforts on a major expansion in the States.

As part of its ambitious plans it has appointed Oliver Yonchev as the managing director of its North American business.

The appointment follows a year of “phenomenal growth” for the firm which is made up of social first marketing agency Social Chain and social media publishing house Media Chain.

Oliver Yonchev will oversee the development of Social Chain Group’s US operations.

That will include overseeing the firm’s plans to open three offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. He will also run the company’s current New York operation.

Chief executive and co-founder Steve Bartlett said: “I’ve spent the last five years working in this industry and I can confidently say that Oliver is one of the most naturally talented professionals I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside.

“His historical contribution to Social Chain globally has helped to define the business in many ways.

“We have tremendous ambitions for Social Chain USA – this is no small challenge, but fortunately Oliver’s capabilities exceed the scope of the challenge and I’m delighted to introduce him to our teams and clients as the new managing director of Social Chain USA.”

Oliver was previously global business director at Social Chain, responsible for the commercial growth of the agency while overseeing the client service and project delivery departments in the UK.

He was “instrumental” in the execution of global social and creative strategies for brands including Amazon, Coca-Cola and FIFA.

“I am now thrilled to further my responsibility within the company and be an instrumental force for the company’s US expansion.”

The appointment comes after Social Chain’s North American business enjoyed “phenomenal growth” in 2018 which included a a 900 per cent year-on-year revenue increase.

The success was primarily driven by European based brands such as Superdry, Pretty Little Thing, and Simply Be partnering with Social Chain to deliver their US social strategies.
