Record month for TheBusinessDesk.com

TheBusinessDesk.com enjoyed its best-ever month for audience figures in October, continuing impressive growth it has enjoyed for the last eight months.

The regional business news website welcomed a record 293,080 unique visitors during the month – up 58% on October 2017.

The number of unique visitors to TheBusinessDesk.com has seen huge increases since April of between 30%-67%, adding up to 120,000 people each month.

TheBusinessDesk.com has recruited three business journalists since March, with Michael Ribbeck and Neil Hodgson leading a new North West team and Nick Hill joining in Yorkshire.

Its commercial team also has three new faces, with Ben Waterhouse appointed in the North West in June and Katie Davies and Graham Dyson joining in Yorkshire last month.

The appointments followed a management buyout by Lee-J Walker and Alex Turner last December.

The business is enjoying a period of growth, exemplified by its Leadership Awards which take place for the first time in Birmingham and Leeds later this month. The inaugural events have been already proven to be a success, with ticket sales and sponsorship support matching TheBusinessDesk.com’s long-established Business Masters awards.

A busy events calendar has also welcomed a number of high-profile speakers during the year, including Northern Powerhouse minister Jake Berry, Scarborough Group’s Kevin McCabe, Andy Koss from Drax Power, REI’s Paul Bassi, Chris Oglesby from Bruntwood, and restaurant entrepreneurs Nisha Katona and Aktar Islam.

TheBusinessDesk.com was founded in 2007 and now operates in four regions – North West, Yorkshire, West Midlands and East Midlands – informing business owners and managers, professionals and senior public sector officials of the key business news and issues in their region.
