New homes heading to Handforth

Ellesmere Port-based Elan Homes has announced a new housing development in Handforth, Wilmslow, which will create 13 houses.

The plans involve disused land on Wilmslow Road, which were approved back in 2011, but the scheme had not progressed.

Elan Homes recently acquired the 0.67 acre site and work on the housing development, known as Handforth Court, is now well under way.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “The buildings that once stood on the site were demolished around 10 years ago, but the redevelopment stalled and the land became overgrown.

“We were keen to acquire the site and bring the land back into good use.

“Intimate developments like Handforth Court and our nearby development, The Larches in Wilmslow, contribute to reducing the housing shortage.

“As soon as work started we began receiving enquiries from people keen to know more about the homes, and in response to demand we will be releasing properties for sale ‘off plan’ from late 2018.”

Handforth Court will offer two, three and four-bedroom townhouses ranging from 852 sq ft to 1,421 sq ft.

As part of Elan’s commitment to ensuring its developments are sustainable, the homebuilder will invest around £61,500 in off-site open space and sports and recreation facilities.

The new homes are being built on the edge of Handforth and will enjoy easy access to the affluent town and nearby Wilmslow.

Close to the A555, which is currently being extended to provide improved access to Manchester Airport and the M56 beyond, it is considered a great base for commuters.
