Developer lets 17,000 sq ft industrial unit in Irlam

Property Alliance Group has let a 17,000 sq ft industrial unit in Irlam.

The five-year lease has been agreed by the Markovitz group, a builders’ and plumbers’ merchant with depots across the North.

The company has chosen the Northbank Industrial Estate as the location for its first Manchester depot and will use the site to stock insulation and materials for drylining.

The unit is prominently located on the estate, which is situated midway between Manchester and Warrington and accessed via the new Irlam/Cadishead bypass leading to junction 11 of the M60.

Frank Taylor, head of industrial at Alliance, said: “The Northbank Industrial Estate offers Markovitz a well-established manufacturing and distribution location in the centre of the North West’s motorway network.

“The site will be used as a specialist depot that complements the group’s wider network across Derbyshire and Yorkshire.”

Steve Bagshaw, from Markovitz, added: “As a specialist branch serving the North West we had specific needs to be catered for.

“The unit offered a fantastic location close to all major motorway links, along with a unit and large yard that we’ve been able to adapt to suit our needs.”

The Markovitz group has a further eight depots across the North and also supplies civils, electrical equipment, timber, roofing, cookers, kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms.

Property Alliance Group is a property development and investment company with a portfolio value of some £260m, together with a nationwide development programme.

Based in Manchester, the company’s expertise spans the industrial, commercial and retail and leisure sectors.
