Northern Quarter to lose yet another venue

Northern Quarter

A burger restaurant in Manchester’s Northern Quarter has closed just a few months after opening.

Randy’s Hardcore Hamburgers in Basil Chambers on Nicholas Croft has closed just three months after opening for business.

The last 12 months have proved to be tough for Manchester’s restaurant trade.

High-profile casualties in recent months have included The Artisan and Manchester House along with The Rabbit near Victoria Station.

The MAD Group also went out of business leading to the closure of eight high-profile venues in the Northern Quarter and South Manchester.

Randy’s was previously home to the Infamous Diner.

Infamous was part of the Mad Group which went out of business last month with the loss of 120 jobs.

Other bars in the MAD group included Walrus, Tusk, Rosylee and Hula.

MAD put the venue up for sale two years ago for  £500,000 by January of this year  the asking price had been dropped to £200,000.

Signs have gone up in the window of the venue saying that the lease has been forfeited by the landlords.

The Randy’s burger bar in Fallowfield is still open for business.
