£9m Bowdon development completes with 60% of units sold

Highbank

Real Estate Investment Partnerships has completed the transformation of Highbank, a £9m residential development on the historic Green Walk in Bowdon, Cheshire.

Originally built in 1861, the property is situated within a predominantly Victorian residential setting in the village’s conservation area and before being converted into high-end apartments the property was used as consultation rooms for The Transformation Group.

The scheme consists of 11 properties in total, part new-build and part-conversion.

The conversion element brings forward six apartments, including a three-bedroom penthouse stretching to nearly 3,000 sq ft, and a three-storey townhouse.

The new-build element comprises two mews houses, one two-bed and one three-bed, alongside a three-storey three-bed coach house.

The development was designed by architect Ollier Smurthwaite and the team started on site in September 2016, after receiving planning in November 2015.

Historically a large Victorian villa belonging to one of the ‘Merchant Princes’ of Manchester, the team at Real Estate Investment Partnerships made it their objective to take great care of the building’s heritage, by expertly restoring period features, such as sash windows and high ceilings, while creating open-plan living spaces featuring bespoke finishes and the latest in-home appliances.

One of the three-bed apartments has also undergone a complete interior design solution from Design by UBER, including a sunken snug/cinema room, that is the ultimate epitome of refined relaxation over the Winter months.

Each living space has state-of-the-art technology that allows residents to control the underfloor heating, lighting and surround sound speaker system from a mobile app.

In addition, Highbank provides two shared resident courtyards, one north- and one south-facing.

Each homeowner also has access to two private parking spaces, with the three-bed penthouse having three spaces.

Steve Slater, chief executive of Real Estate Investment Partnerships, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Highbank is now complete and residents are settling in just in time for Christmas – with the Christmas lights having been turned on on our 11ft resident’s Christmas tree just the other day.

“Our vision for Highbank was always to provide contemporary homes that were in keeping with the surrounding area, but had extra special touches such as the retention of period features.

“Highbank has proved to be popular among a range of different house-hunters and more than half of the properties have already been taken off the market.”

He added: “Now that it’s all complete and people can come see the homes ‘in the flesh’, we don’t expect they’ll be around for much longer.”

Residents were handed keys back in September and joint agents Hibbert Homes and Gascoigne Hallman are hosting regular open house viewings.
