Campsites change hands in deal with Camping & Caravanning Club

Two popular campsites in the Lake District have been sold to the Camping and Caravanning Club, for an undisclosed sum.

North Lakes campsites Scotgate and Braithwate Bridges have been owned by the Stuart family for 65 years.

Legal advice on the deals was provided by Lancaster law firm Baines Wilson.

The sales takes the total number of campsites in the Lake District owned by the Camping and Caravanning club to eight.

The holiday parks, which have been run and developed by three generations of the Stuart family, cover 18 acres and enjoy dramatic views towards Skiddaw and the northern fells.

Andrew Hill, from Baines Wilson, said “The Stuart family have created two outstanding holiday parks which will greatly enhance the Camping and Caravanning club’s portfolio of campsites in the Lakes.
