Plastics firm announces new order and potential new production line

Coral Products' food recycling bin

Coral Products, a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of plastic products based in Haydock, Merseyside, has announced that its Haydock Mouldings Division has received a further order of £795,000 in relation to the supply contract of tote bags for a customer’s UK fulfilment centres.

The company is currently fulfilling previously announced orders.

Production for this latest order is planned to commence in March and to be completed in June 2019.

In addition, the firm also announced that, after some months of discussion and intense product development, it has received a tooling order from a building manufacturer which it is hoped will, in due course, lead to a significant sales order of plastic roof tiles.

Coral said there can be no certainty as to the outcome at this stage.

Mick Wood, Coral chief executive, said, “We are very pleased to receive this further tote order from a prestigious customer and also hope that the new tooling order will lead to significant sales in due course.”

Historically, Coral initially specialised in producing plastic CD, video and DVD cases, but the industry changed as consumers turned to downloading entertainment content, and the company switched to new lines, including recycling bins for the food and garden industries, and automotive parts.

Last November the firm announced it had returned to profit, when it released its half year report.

It made a pre-tax profit of £582,000, compared with a £7,000 loss the previous year.

Sales for the six months to October 31, were £13.08m, compared with £11.91m in 2017.
