Independent legal practice Brabners has been inducted as an official member of The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the professional body representing recruitment businesses.

The move confirms Brabners as a member of APSCo’s international network of more than 800 recruitment agencies.

Brabners, one of the UK’s most active legal advisors to recruitment agencies, with offices in Liverpool and Manchester, is now a member of all key trade bodies for the industry including TEAM, the Association of Labour Providers, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and the FCSA.

Paul Chamberlain, partner and head of the recruitment sector group at Brabners, said: “Professional bodies like APSCo play an integral role in shaping the recruitment sector whilst enabling the businesses we champion to thrive.

“Though the employment market has grown positively for a number of years now, fast-moving issues such as the gig economy, digitalisation and sector-specific skills gaps have all presented challenges for recruiters to overcome.

“As such, it’s vital that we are able to work with professional bodies and the businesses they represent to share knowledge and experience that will, ultimately, move the industry forward.”

He added: “It has long been our ambition to openly collaborate with all five of the key recruitment trade bodies, so we’re naturally excited to be able to do so with APSCo.”

Ann Swain, global chief executive at APSCo, said: “All of our affiliate members commit to a strict code of conduct and rigorous referencing process, so it’s testament to Brabners’ high standards that we are welcoming them to the team.

“APSCo affiliates provide a valued stamp of best practice, quality, integrity and expertise, and I’m certain there will be demonstrable benefits for those of our membership who choose to connect with their legal expertise.”
