Industrial site snapped up as plans for housing development given green light

The 18-acre former Eatons Transmission site in Salford has been sold, paving the way for a housing development.

Countryside Properties has acquired the site from Property Alliance Group for an undisclosed sum.

It has been owned by Alliance since 2007 and comprises two industrial buildings totalling 250,000 sq ft plus storage space.

The sale will make way for the construction of 302 homes.

Frank Taylor from Alliance said: “The property has served well as industrial and employment space for decades, however this brownfield site is now past its economic life. The regeneration will make way for privately owned, affordable and PRS houses in an area where there is huge demand.”

Demolition of the industrial buildings is now underway and the housing scheme targeted for completion in early 2022.

Preston O’Herlihy advised Countryside on the acquisition of the site.
