Manchester digital agency e3creative has joined international digital agency, Dept.

Founded in 2010 by Jake Welsh, e3creative says it works with forward-thinking brands to create refined, impactful and inspiring digital experiences.

With e3creative joining, Dept UK strengthens its service portfolio to match client demand, namely creative and digital marketing.

Bosses at e3creative say they will be able to leverage Dept’s large scale to service its clients with the additional technology stacks that Dept specialises in, combined with its enriched data and intelligence services.

Dept is an international digital agency, headquartered in Amsterdam which unites creativity, technology and data to help clients reinvent and accelerate their digital reality.

It currently employs a team of more than 1000 people operating out of 11 countries in Europe and the USA, with a revenue of more than 130 million Euros.

In 2016 it acquired the Manchester-based digital agency Building Blocks, which rebranded as Dept in 2018.

Jake Welsh, founder of e3creative, said: “It’s a rare and welcomed opportunity to unite with a larger team that echoes our agency values, culture and drive to continue our growth momentum.

“Joining Dept is an exciting next step for e3creative – our vision since day one has been to become the world’s leading integrated digital agency and this partnership only furthers that pursuit.”

Managing director of Dept UK, Jasper van de Luijtgaarden, added: “2019 is an important year for Dept in the UK. We’re looking to expand and complete our service portfolio in order to provide our clients with full-service capabilities.

“We’re one step closer to achieving our growth ambition with e3creative joining and we look forward to combining our strengths to better service our clients.”

Dimi Albers, Dept chief executive, said: “We are striving to become one of the leading digital agencies worldwide in the next few years – an ambition we believe is fully achievable by expanding our regional services and on-boarding exciting agencies, such as e3creative.”

Recently e3creative has experienced rapid growth, doubling its revenue in 2017 and growing to a team of more than 60 people.

Listed as a top 100 Independent Digital Agency by the Drum, the agency’s creative, development and marketing teams have scooped more than 80 awards for projects delivered for the likes of Sony PlayStation, O2, Royal Ascot and Carphone Warehouse.
