Historic hotel terrace to offer stunning views of riverfront

Proposed Carpathia Terrace

Carpathia, the rooftop restaurant inside the 30 James Street Hotel, is undergoing an extension that will see a new terrace created.

Set to be completed by the end of March, the new terrace, that can hold up to an additional 50 people, provides guests dining there with spectacular views of Liverpool’s waterfront and the city’s much-loved Liver Building.

Carpathia’s new terrace will have lavish floor to ceiling windows and romantic fairy lights, and will be perfect for ladies’ lunches, groups of friends and family dining, or cocktails in the sun.

There will also be exclusive events available to book.

The restaurant has today (February 5) released images of how the terrace will look once completed, showcasing the magnificent views that guests will be able to enjoy.

Katie Kenwright, co-owner of hotel owner Signature Living, said: “Carpathia’s rooftop terrace is one of Liverpool’s hotspots for outdoor drinks and dining and when the weather is warmer, is in very high demand.

“This extension will allow room for more people to enjoy the stunning views of our city, whilst having small plates, our classic afternoon tea or delicious cocktails.”

The building was headquarters of the Ismay, Imrie and Company shipping company, which later became known as the White Star Line, owner of the ill-fated RMS Titanic.

RMS Carpathia was famous for rescuing survivors of the Titanic after she struck an iceberg and sank, in April 1912, with the loss of 1,517 lives in the North Atlantic Ocean.
