The 44-storey Anaconda Cut launches to service rental market

The Anaconda Cut, the tallest building in Salford has launched.

The striking residential development offering luxury rental accommodation and amenities is funded by real estate investment firm, Europa Capital and managed by Atlas Residential UK.

The 44-storey tower stands at 131 metres, making it the tallest building in Salford.

Delivered by Renaker Build Limited, the property sits in the Greengate area on a former disused car park, marking the entry into Salford over the river Irwell from Manchester city centre and on the western fringe of Media City village.

The Anaconda Cut was the name given to a renowned engineering project in the 1970s which straightened the sharp elbow in the river Irwell, where the new development sits, to prevent flooding.

The wider masterplan for Greengate will see a significant amount of residential developments being delivered over the next 10 years, transforming it into a vibrant new community.

The Anaconda Cut is in an ideal location, a five-minute walk to Harvey Nichols and Selfridges and 20 minutes to the Northern Quarter, close to Manchester Arena and a five-minute walk to Manchester Victoria station.

Designed by OMI Architects, the property is clad in a seamless glazed curtain walling with gold coloured reflective metal panels which transforms into a shimmering gold plinth as the sun moves around it.

A lower brick element with elements of gold panelling sits against one façade of the tower to provide continuity along the existing street and buildings below.

Developers say the Anaconda Cut offers an alternative to ‘traditional’ rental living and raises the bar of build-to-rent in the UK.

It comprises 349 spacious fitted out apartments ranging from one- to three-bedrooms, all with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows.

The units have been designed to the highest specification and carefully curated amenities integrated throughout the building to enhance community living.

A foyer with 24-hour hotel-style concierge and a mezzanine co-working space sits on the ground floor of the tower, along with a state-of-the art resident’s gym offering a variety of HITT workouts and yoga sessions.

The building also has a pet-friendly environment allowing residents to bring their animals with them and the option to leave them behind with an on-site pet concierge.

Parking is situated in the basement over three levels, offering 79 spaces, and bicycle storage beneath.

High-level communal roof terraces and seating to relax in has been designed on the 17th floor, along with a cinema screening room, while the entire upper 43rd floor is dedicated to a ‘Sky Lounge’ for all residents to enjoy with unprecedented views over the city of Manchester and stretching as far as the Pennines.
