Childcare group announces its 50th nursery acquisition with Kiddy Factory Nursery

The Just Childcare group – which operates nurseries in the North West, Yorkshire and South West – has acquired the Kiddy Factory Nursery in Speke, Liverpool, for an undisclosed sum.

The addition of Kiddy Factory Nursery, which has served the Speke area for more than 10 years, sees the group extend its portfolio to 50 settings.

The setting is the second nursery to join the group in 2019, following the acquisition of Leyland nursery Stonehouse Childcare in early February.

Kiddy Factory is an Ofsted ‘Good’ setting, with a capacity of 96 child places.

The single-storey nursery features a large grassy outdoor area and 11 playrooms, including a soft-play gymnasium and sensory room.

Just Childcare now provides more than 3,600 child places across the group of nurseries, all of which are Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’.

The group has grown significantly from just seven nurseries in 2015, when it established a central support centre in Manchester.

Chief executive David Johnson said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Kiddy Factory as the 50th nursery to join the Just Childcare group.

“The nursery is in a great location and is known in the area for its wonderful team and excellent facilities.

“The last few years have seen Just Childcare go through a very exciting period of growth. Not only have we reached this key milestone of acquiring our 50th setting, we’ve also extended our reach to the South West of England, where we now have 13 nurseries.”

He added: “Kiddy Factory is a fantastic addition to the group.”

The corporate team in the Manchester office of Gateley advised Just Childcare on the acquisition, which completed last week.
