New restaurant on the rise at city centre shopping park

The Terrace, at Liverpool One

A new independent American-Italian restaurant, Smoke and Dough, is to open its first location in the UK on Liverpool One’s Terrace overlooking Chavasse Park.

The 7,000 sq ft venue will include 150 covers and feature a late-night bar of 50 covers with an exclusive outdoor seating area.

Founded by chef Deepak Bahuguna and Sachin Bajpai, Smoke and Dough provides an interactive experience centered on an open kitchen smoke house.

Every table has a lava coal pit to allow customers to grill meat and fish to their personal taste.

Smoke and Dough will also serve a range of specially-created sourdough pizzas, including crispy duck and chicken tikka, alongside an array of innovative burgers and flat breads.

Sachin Bajpai said: “Liverpool One is an actively-managed, thriving location led by a team with an ethos that reflects our own.

“It is a great location in which to launch Smoke and Dough, and we are confident our exciting new brand will be very well received.”

Alison Clegg, director, asset management, Grosvenor Europe, added: “Smoke and Dough will deliver an enjoyable, engaging and interactive dining experience.

“The brand’s approach will add a fresh dimension to Liverpool One and is aligned to our enlivenment vision for visitors.”

Smoke and Dough is the latest in a long list of independent dining and bar concepts to launch at Liverpool One, with the brand following Aether by The Alchemist, Thaikhun’s bar concept, The Club House by New World Trading Company, and Lunya, the UK’s leading Catalan bar, restaurant and deli.

Cushman & Wakefield and Metis Real Estate Advisors acted for Liverpool One.

Smoke and Dough dealt direct and the restaurant was designed by an in-house team.
