Top businessman to speak at BusinessDesk.com event

Matthew Riley

One of the region’s leading businessmen is to speak at an event organised by TheBusinessDesk.com.

Matthew Riley, the founder and chairman of The Daisy Group, will be speaking alongside Sir Richard Leese at the event in Manchester.

The event, called The Key Powering the Economy Forward, marks the launch of our State of the Region Campaign.

The event will look at the opportunities and challenges facing the region.

Sir Richard has long been a political heavyweight in Manchester and in the North West and has led Manchester City Council for more than two decades.

This event, which is free for delegates to attend, will mark the launch of the 2019 State of the Region project, a six-month in-depth project examining how individual business sectors drive the Northern economy.

Supported by KPMG and Squire Patton Boggs, the campaign is running for its second consecutive year and will explore topics including skills, manufacturing and family business throughout the six-month period.

This launch event will give attendees the opportunity to network with up to 100 delegates, as well as hear about some of the most exciting investments and innovations in the region.

Mr Riley founded The Daisy Group in 2001 and he has driven the rapid growth of the company to create one of the UK’s leading business technology and communications service provider.

He floated the Lancashire based company on the Alternative Investment Market in the midst of the 2009 recession, grew the business to revenues of £350m and, in January 2015, he took it back into private ownership in a £494m deal.

The award-winning entrepreneur and highly successful business leader was born in Burnley and still lives locally.

Please note that places at the event are limited so booking is highly recommended.

The event takes place on March 21st at KPMG’s offices in central Manchester.
