Racecourse launches inaugural Northern Property race day

Chester Racecourse

Chester Racecourse has today announced details of a new property industry-focused race day at its city centre course.

The inaugural Northern Property Race Day, an event racecourse chiefs hope will soon become one of the most popular events on the property industry networking calendar, will take place on the evening of Friday, July 12.

The event, in partnership with Manchester-based communications agency Roland Dransfield, has been created to celebrate the continuing growth of the property sector in the region – particularly in Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and Cheshire – and is expected to be attended by the bright lights from the real estate sector from right across the region.

Chief executive of Chester Race Company, Richard Thomas, said: “Given the emergence of the Northern Powerhouse as a political and economic reality, we want to celebrate and provide a platform for the real estate sector and its supply chain, showcasing the success of the sector in the region whilst also providing a platform for meaningful networking in an exclusive and prestigious environment.

“Early signs are already really promising for our inaugural event, with huge interest from the property sector throughout the region.

“Stakeholders include developers, agents, construction companies, chartered surveyors, architects, law firms, insurance companies and financial institutions.

“The hope is that, eventually, The Chester Racecourse Northern Property Race Day will become one of the biggest and most popular networking events in the Northern property industry calendar.”

The event will begin with a 4pm champagne reception on the Festival Village lawn, followed by a compere introducing keynote speakers from both the public and private sector.

Dinner and a silent charity auction will then follow and, while racecourse chiefs are still selecting the specific charity beneficiaries, it is anticipated that money raised will go towards helping homeless charities across Manchester, Liverpool and Chester.

Steve Hogg, the new lead director in Manchester for property consultants JLL, has already committed the consultancy to this year’s inaugural Chester Racecourse Northern Property Race Day.

He said: “There will be a huge property industry turnout at this event and I’m certain this will be a great day.

“An event like this has been long overdue on the calendar and I expect to see all the main property faces in the region at the racecourse on the day to take advantage of the genuine networking opportunity on offer.”

The Northern Property Race Day, which runs from 4pm-9.45pm – will feature seven races, including The Boodles Maiden Stakes, The MBNA Handicap Stakes, The ESL Maiden Stakes and The Nursery Stakes.
