Entertainment specialist expands in South after six-figure investment

A Preston-based entertainment firm has invested a six-figure sum in new equipment.

To aid its expansion into the South of England, Sunshine Events has acquired a range of new fun equipment, as well as upgrading some popular favourites.

It hires out quality fun equipment including giant inflatable hungry hippos and assault courses, hi-tech products such as the virtual reality experience and Atari pong tables, classic funfair-themed side stalls and giant event globes for large fun days, exhibitions, events and parties.

The company has invested in additional equipment to be stocked at its new state-of-the-art depot in Milton Keynes, which opened earlier in the year, to better serve its South-based clients.

Owning each piece of equipment found on its site, the impressive list has now exceeded 400 fun products.

The investment is part of Sunshine Events’ national expansion and the firm is on the hunt to hire 50 ‘fun experts’ who will form its Southern team.

Sunny Sandwell, director of fun at Sunshine Events, said: “This is a huge investment made by us as a company, but one that signals our intent to expand at a rapid rate throughout the UK.

“Our work sees us cover all ends of the UK, but over the last few years our clientele in the South have expanded at a rapid rate. The new depot and equipment will allow us to provide a better service and further increase our clients in the South in general.

“It’s an exciting time to be a part of the company and something we have strived for over the past few years.”

The past 12 months have seen impressive growth for Sunshine Events with a turnover rise of more than 30% to £1.8m.

Sunshine Events was founded 15 years ago by Sunny and James Sandwell.
