Law firm advises online fashion retailer on latest acquisition

Pannone Corporate has advised online retailer Boohoo on the acquisition of the brand and intellectual property assets of online womenswear retailer MissPap.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will see MissPap, which was founded by in 2014 by Ashley Ali in Lancashire, join PrettyLittleThing and Nasty Gal in the Boohoo stable of fashion brands.

Boohoo Group chief executive John Lyttle said: “MissPap is a brand with great potential which can leverage the group’s expertise.

“This acquisition further strengthens our multi-brand platform, representing an exciting opportunity to accelerate our offering to our ever-growing range of customers globally.”

The deal follows a number of acquisitions by Boohoo in recent years. In 2017, it acquired Nasty Gal for £16m, while in 2016 it acquired a majority stake in Pretty Little Thing for £3.3m.

Reports claim that MissPap had planned to appoint a liquidator after shareholders approved a resolution to wind up the company.
