Sweets giant expands with new store opening on retail park

Example of a Haribo store

Haribo, the confectionery manufacturer, is expanding its retail presence with a third outlet store opening at McArthurGlen designer outlet Cheshire Oaks, next Tuesday (April 16).

Following the popularity of Haribo’s existing stores at London designer outlet and McArthurGlen designer outlet York, the 1,330 square foot unit forms the next exciting step in the brand’s ambitious retail strategy.

Rebecca Fox, retail manager at Haribo, said: “After much planning we’re thrilled to be bringing Haribo’s fun and unique personality to life once more – this time for shoppers at McArthurGlen designer outlet Cheshire Oaks.

“We opened our first outlet store in December 2017, and in November last year our York store opened its doors, too – both are experiencing a great deal of success which we are hoping to replicate and build on.

“Once again we’re excited to showcase our much-loved range and to provide the perfect place for visitors to immerse themselves in the happy world of Haribo whilst enjoying everything that is on offer at the extensive outlet.”

Showcasing a broad selection of treats alongside a range of branded merchandise, the store will feature a fun pick ‘n’ mix zone which is sure to be a popular destination for shoppers who are keen to enjoy a taste of ‘The Happy World of Haribo’.

Centre manager at McArthurGlen designer outlet Cheshire Oaks, Kenny Murray, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Haribo to Cheshire Oaks, they are a fantastic addition and elevate our family-friendly offering. We look forward to seeing the smiles on our guest’s faces as they experience the new store.”

With further plans to expand its retail footprint, the new store, which has created nine jobs, is the latest move in the confectioner’s strategy to roll out its store presence across the UK.

A family-owned business, Haribo has been making sweets for almost 100-years.

Today these treats are shared and enjoyed around the world.

Launching into the UK market in 1972, Haribo operates two manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire, which are home to more than 700 team members.

The Cheshire Oaks store will offer a range of items at up to 60% less, from a huge selection of designer brands.
