Acquisition offers St Helens firm access to bigger range of opportunities

Cole Associates Corporate Finance has advised the shareholders of TerraConsult on the sale of the company to ByrneLooby Group for an undisclosed sum.

The deal completed on April 4, 2019.

TerraConsult is a UK practice specialising in waste management consultancy, environmental engineering and earth sciences.

Employing 45 staff and strategically headquartered in St Helens, between Manchester and Liverpool, TerraConsult brings significant additional expertise and capacity to Dublin-based ByrneLooby.

As part of the ByrneLooby Group, TerraConsult will benefit from multi-disciplinary support, greater geographical reach and corporate scale, facilitating access to larger projects.

Established in 2000, TerraConsult gained a national and international reputation for excellence, primarily related to development of land for commercial, industrial, residential, waste management, renewable energy and infrastructure purposes.

It offers consultancy services on projects as far as Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Turkey, India, Saudia Arabia, Iraq, UAE and Ghana.

ByrneLooby, which currently employs 150 staff, is pursuing a strategy of expansion of engineering expertise.

This deal marks an important step in the growth of the company, particularly in the UK. ByrneLooby has worked on many key projects in the UK, including the London Shard and the Cross-Rail project.

The selling shareholders were advised by a team led by Jeremy Cole at Manchester-based Cole Associates Corporate Finance, and Margaret Evans at FDR Law.

ByrneLooby were advised by Shakespeare Martineau (solicitors).
