Solicitors Brown Turner Ross, who have offices in Liverpool and Southport, has strengthened its private client department with the appointments of Thomas Rimmington and Matthew Skeels as directors at the 130-year-old firm.

Thomas and Matthew have been promoted within the firm as the growing Liverpool City Region company adds to its existing directors in property, employment law and family law.

Now head of the firm’s private client department, Thomas joined Brown Turner Ross in 2018, while Matthew as been a core part of the private client team since 2016.

The pair specialise in wills and trusts creation, estate and tax planning, lasting and ordinary powers of attorney, court of protection work and asset protection.

Thomas is also a full member of STEP, the society of trust and estate practitioners which adds an extra dimension to his expertise.

European law firm Fieldfisher has promoted Manchester-based brand development specialist James Corlett to its partnership.

James is one of 14 lawyers to be made up by the firm, effective from May 1, 2019.

The new partners, comprising seven men and seven women, are spread across the firm’s London, Birmingham, Manchester, Brussels, Munich and Silicon Valley offices and represent the development of talent across the firm’s international footprint.

The latest promotion round takes the total number of partners across the Fieldfisher network to 267, of which 20 are based in Manchester.

Manchester-based data capture specialist, WorkMobile, has promoted Graham Fairweather to client services manager.

Having worked at Workmobile for the past 11 years Graham was previously in charge of the company’s support and testing activities.

In his new role he will be responsible for ensuring high client satisfaction levels and utilising his excellent product knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of the WorkMobile solution to improve its interface with existing and new customers.

WorkMobile is an award-winning mobile data capture app that replaces paper to enable remote staff to complete digital forms and capture all essential business data, including signatures, videos, photographs and GPS locations.

CBRE’s Manchester office has appointed Adam White as senior director within its development consultancy team.

Adam joins CBRE from MAG Property, where he was director of c ommercial and business development across MAG’s £640m property portfolio at Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports.

Adam brings extensive expertise to CBRE across large-scale projects, including a lead role on the £1bn, five million sq ft Airport City scheme, delivering a record-breaking 45-acre logistics land sale, while building a contracted pipeline of 1,500 hotel bedrooms and the largest office deal outside of London in the past 20 years to The Hut Group.

Prior to working on Airport City, Adam played a key role in kick-starting many of Manchester’s largest mixed-use developments, including Mayfield, NOMA and ITV Granada, as well as leading on the disposal of the 400-acre Alderley Park R&D campus

In his new role at CBRE Adam will oversee a number of major projects, providing agency, development consultancy and management services to strategic landowners, investors, developers and the public sector across the North West.

Specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory has bolstered its Manchester team with the appointment of director Simon Raine.

Simon, an established banker with 35 years’ experience, joins FRP Advisory from Handelsbanken.

During his 17 years with the Swedish bank he was responsible for developing the bank’s corporate and private banking business across the North West and Scotland.

His last six years were spent as a member of the Northern management team, where he supported 12 North West branches, assisted with recruitment and sat on the credit committee.

In his new role Simon will work closely with FRP Advisory’s corporate finance, debt advisory and restructuring teams as they continue to support businesses across the region.

He will be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities across the North West and this will include helping business owners and management teams to implement their growth plans.

His appointment further strengthens the firm’s senior team and reinforces FRP Advisory’s commitment to businesses across the North West.

It also follows a significant period of growth for the firm in the North West, which has increased headcount across all service lines over the past 12 months.
