Rapid growth leads to new office move for consultancy

Pell Frischmann's civil engineering highways and traffic team

Following the rapid growth of its civil engineering, highways and traffic team, multi-disciplinary consultancy Pell Frischmann has upscaled to a new office in the heart of Manchester city centre.

Headed by divisional director, Matthew Davies, the Manchester-based team has expanded rapidly in the past year, with a 10-fold increase in staffing numbers since July 2018, and a further five members of staff expected to join its ranks before the end of 2019.

The consultancy’s new base at Piccadilly House – a Grade II-listed building in the North Quarter of the city centre – provides the 11-strong team with an open-plan and contemporary workspace, with views overlooking Piccadilly Gardens.

Specialising in civil engineering, highways, traffic, transport, and residential infrastructure solutions, the team is currently providing modelling, design and development services to high profile clients such as Highways England, Homes England and Transport for Greater Manchester.

It has also been pioneering the development of a 3D visual service to the wider industry, alongside its partner offices in Wakefield and Nottingham.

The team’s expansion to a new base in Manchester’s ‘M1’ postcode, exemplifies the ambitions of Pell Frischmann, says the company, and follows similar moves by the Edinburgh, Luton and Nottingham teams in the past year.

The consultancy, which is best known for its role in development and re-development of the iconic Centre Point building in central London, boasts a UK-wide presence and also has teams in major cities including Birmingham, Exeter and London.

Matthew Davies said: “This move comes at an exciting time for the North of England and North Wales – given the recent growth and significance of Greater Manchester, Liverpool, and North West to our national economy.

“We believe our expert team here in the North West, is well-positioned to support the region’s development with forward-thinking, innovative, and creative solutions to its infrastructure challenges.

“Being situated in the heart of Manchester will provide a superb base for this, and I’m confident we’ll be using this as a stepping stone to further expansion.”
