MCI Developments, part of the UK’s partnership home builder Keepmoat Homes, has commenced work on 48 new apartments for Viaduct Housing Partnership, the development partnership between Stockport Homes Group and Stockport Council.

The apartments, which are located on Stockholm Road, include a mix of one- and two-bedroom units and will be made available equally for rent and shared ownership through Viaduct Housing Partnership.

Work started on the £4.8m scheme this month following planning approval by Stockport Council.

This project follows the successful development of 27 homes at Blackstone Road, Stockport, by MCI for Viaduct Housing Partnership.

Alex Wood regional managing director at Wigan-based MCI Developments, said: “I’m delighted that MCI Developments has commenced on site with this project for Viaduct Housing Partnership to create 48 much-needed new homes in the area.

“It marks a strong start to 2019 for the business which is proud to be working in partnerships with registered housing providers like Stockport Homes across the North West, helping to deliver the quality affordable homes people require.”

Ken Lee, chair of the Viaduct Board, added: “It is pleasing to continue working with MCI Developments on another much-needed scheme to provide great new apartments.

“We are planning to welcome in the first residents to their new homes in due course as we help to deliver the council’s ambition to meet the affordable housing needs of Stockport.”
