Transport provider swoops for £10m-turnover firm

CMAC Group, Globe Centre, Accrington

Accrington-based CMAC Group has acquired Cabline, a Nottingham-based company, for an undisclosed sum.

CMAC is a managed transport and accommodation solution provider. Cabline is a managed taxi, bus and coach hire specialist.

Serving a broad range of customers, Cabline was established in 2004 and employs just under 50 specialist staff and has an annual turnover in excess of £10m.

The acquisition is largely complementary to CMAC Group’s current operation, thereby significantly strengthening its ground transport offering.

It adds to its existing UK network of private hire, executive and accessible vehicles, buses and coaches, servicing a wide range of industries including airline, travel management, rail, corporate and government organisations.

CMAC delivers a range of time-critical and emergency transport products and moves more than a million passengers each year, providing integrated accommodation solutions for thousands more.

The company was established in 2007 and employs more than 150 people across multiple North West offices, alongside its first European operation, based in Athens, Greece.

CMAC chief executivd, Steve Turner, said: “The acquisition of Cabline adds yet more expertise and expands the reach and diversity of our existing supply chain, offering greater choice, availability and increased flexibility to our combined customer base.”
