Expansion and new city centre base for property agency

David Whitney

Sixteen Real Estate has continued its growth with the creation of a building consultancy team.

The Manchester agency was established in 2016 when Nick Nelson and Andrew Backhouse left Colliers International.

David Whitney, previously a director of Lambert Smith Hampton and with 17 years’ industry experience, is joining Sixteen Real Estate to establish the new building consultancy team.

He said: “I’m very excited to be joining Sixteen at another key milestone in their growth.

“It’s a natural fit for me as I share their passion for the rejuvenation of under-valued assets and I can’t wait to get started.

“We will be providing a full range of building consultancy services, with a focus on project and development management.”

Nick Nelson said: “Given our extensive asset management mandates it was essential that we could offer our clients a bespoke building consultancy service.

“In our first three years we have overseen major projects throughout the North West, including Atlas Business Park, City Tower, 80 Mosley Street, Origin, 340 Deansgate, 1 King Street among numerous others.”

The news comes as Sixteen relocates into a new office within Origin, 70 Spring Gardens.

“We felt that this growth presented the opportunity for us to put down roots in Origin as the team now stands at six specialising in offices, retail, leisure and industrial, with partners Alex Haigh, Nicola Harrington, Amelia Barratt and Andrew Backhouse,” said Nick.
