Nutrition and food supplement firm Science In Sport has announced that its chief financial officer is leaving the business.

East Lancashire firm Science in Sport deals with elite athletes, sports enthusiasts and the gym lifestyle community.

The firm has announced Elizabeth Lake, the company’s chief financial officer, has given notice that she will leave the company in September after being approached to join another business.

The process to appoint a new chief financial officer is already under way.

A statement said: “Elizabeth managed a robust finance function at the company and she has confirmed that prior to her departure she will ensure that all financial workstreams are in place in preparation for the company’s results for the six months ending 30 June 2019, which are expected to be announced in the week commencing 16 September 2019.

“Trading across the group in the year to date has been in line with board expectations and integration of the December 2018 acquisition of the PhD brand remains firmly on track.

“The company, whose cash position remains strong, will provide further details of trading early next month in its scheduled pre-close half year trading statement.

The board thanks Elizabeth for her significant contribution to Science in Sport during the past three years, a period of rapid organic and acquisitive growth at the business, and wishes her well in her future career.”
