New £20m luxury holiday resort set to open in Cumbria

Ullswater Heights

Ullswater Heights, a new luxury holiday park from five-star resort operator Leisure Resorts, will open on July 1.

Situated near Newbiggin, Ullswater Heights’ 150 pitches include lodges for ownership built to the highest specification and a range of brand-new holiday lodges for rental in partnership with Hoseasons.

Leisure Resorts is a five-star holiday resort operator founded just over two years ago by Gary Molloy, the founder and former owner of Park Leisure.

The firm now boasts four unique sites in Cumbria and Yorkshire, covering a swathe of gorgeous countryside.

The new park at Ullswater Heights – which represents a significant evolution in the company’s offering and the pinnacle of Leisure Resorts’ achievements to-date – represents an investment approaching £20m. The construction created approximately 40 jobs and the park will create an estimated 65 full and part-time jobs when open.

Encircling a beautiful eight-acre lake and set among 70 acres of land and designed gardens that complement the surrounding countryside, the firm says the dog-friendly and family-friendly resort sets a whole new standard for high-end holiday accommodation, offering gorgeous holiday lodges for ownership and holidays, including spa getaways and a UK-first, centrally-heated glamping tents with Jacuzzis.

An on-site restaurant will also open with a menu featuring local produce. Guests at the park have access to a concierge service to cater for their every whim.

Gary Molloy said: “Leisure Resorts has been operating for just over two years and Ullswater Heights represents the pinnacle of our achievements to-date.

“We’re taking our offering to a new level, aiming to open as the best holiday park in the UK and never stop improving what we offer.

“We’re delighted to partner with Hoseasons who have over 75 years’ experience offering brilliant holiday lodge getaways.”

He added: “Uptake of holiday homes for ownership has also been a great success so far – this will be a tranquil and beautiful escape for owners and holidaymakers alike.”

Scott Drew, property & portfolio director at Hoseasons, said: “It’s great to see Leisure Resorts flourishing amidst the strong demand for domestic short breaks in the UK with their latest addition of Ullswater Heights.

“The quality of the new accommodation on offer in this idyllic countryside setting is among the best in our UK portfolio, and we’ll be doing all we can to raise awareness of it to national audiences through our extensive marketing activity and large customer database.”

The jewel in the crown of the park will be one of the most expensive holiday lodges ever manufactured in the UK, created by British luxury home provider Aspire Park & Leisure Homes.

Dubbed The Blencathra, the stunning lodge is one of the first in the UK to feature a jacuzzi on the roof.

It offers 1,430 sq ft of space with three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a vast open plan living room. With a guide price of £795,000, the lodge is a unique masterpiece and the most sought-after holiday lodge in the UK, the operators claim.

Lodges are available for sale and can be customised to suit requirements.
