Property firm signals ambitious expansion plans with host of new appointments

New arrivals at Urban Splash

Property firm Urban Splash has signalled its plans to expand across the country with a series of new appointments.

The Manchester firm has made 22 key appointments as it prepares to launch an acquisition spree.

The new arrivals include Katie Dean in the role of land director.

Katie has moved from the strategic land promoter Hallam Land Management where she worked as the North West regional manager for over seven years acquiring land and gaining planning permissions for large scale residential developments.

Katie will help the company’s growth in acquiring more sites and expanding the modular house product.

Urban Splash launched nine new developments in the past two years alone, and Katie will continue to build on the momentum.

She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on this challenge with Urban Splash.

“Anyone in this sector knows the brand, and the fantastic work the team does in raising the bar through great design.

“I’m delighted to be a part of the company, and to be working on extending the presence of our modular suite of products – an innovative portfolio which is turning heads across the country.”

Katie has worked at the P J Livesey Group, Ask Property Developments and also property consultancy G L Hearn.

Joining Katie is newly appointed development manager Hunter Lyden.

A chartered structural engineer, Hunter joins the business following stints atGladman, Arup and Buro Happold.

Both Hunter and Katie will be based at the Urban Splash head office at Timber Wharf working alongside group director Nathan Cornish.

He said: “We’ve bought 16 sites across the country in the last four years, mainly through opportunistic or partnership purchasers – so we have a clear desire to grow and develop even more homes and workspaces.

“Our new colleagues have the skills to help us deliver on these plans; Katie’s role will be to continue this growth whilst also adding more focus to our strategy especially in areas of the country where we have yet to work in, while Hunter will help deliver a pipeline of more than 3000 new homes across the country.

“They are both outstanding candidates and we are delighted they accepted their roles.”

Urban Splash is continuing the expansion of its land acquisitions team and is currently recruiting a  bid co-ordinator to work alongside the land team and help bolster the acquisition strategy.

Katie and Hunter’s appointments also come amidst a series of new roles created by Urban Splash; 22 other new colleagues have joined the business in the past quarter including new warehouse and production operative professionals joining the team at the Urban Splash modular housing factory.

Meanwhile Olly Wigglesworth has joined the company as head of design and Neil Vaughan has joined the business as sales negotiator to handle sales of the final homes at New Islington in Manchester, including the recently launched Mansion House apartments.
