Opening date confirmed for restaurant and cocktail bar’s third site

An example of Maray's dishes

One of Liverpool’s best-loved restaurants and cocktail bars, Maray, will be opening its third site next Monday, July 8, at the iconic Royal Albert Dock Liverpool.

With two sites already in the city, Maray has become hugely popular since it first opened in the city centre back in 2014, and features cocktails and small plates, with influences from the Middle East, Mediterranean and North Africa.

The new 65-cover restaurant, located in Britannia Pavilion will be serving the much-loved menu from it’s other two sites, which includes crowd pleasing favourites such as lamb shawarma with herb feta, apricot and pistachio, falafel with hummus and tabouleh and, of course, the people’s champion ‘Disco Cauliflower’ with tahini, yoghurt, harissa, chermoula and pomegranate.

Guests will also be able to sip an array of creative drinks in the cocktail bar which boasts beautiful views across the dock.

The cocktail list includes the likes of the Seychelles Sanctuary, a tiki storm with French complexity, comprising Takamaka Coconut rum, pineapple, jasmine green tea and Suze.

The team have spent time sourcing several unique interior features to complement the already beautiful space.

This includes antique Parisian light shades and reclaimed parquet flooring on the mezzanine level which was salvaged from a school gym.

Guests can also enjoy a theatrical dining experience while sitting at the kitchen counter dining area, overlooking the chefs.

Maray joins the exciting food and drink line-up at the Royal Albert Dock, which has seen a number of independents emerge over the past year.

These include Spanish cantina Lunyalita, London restaurant Rosa’s Thai Cafe, family-run bakery Rough Hand Made, along with the Barrie Brothers’ new restaurant, which is set to open over the coming months.

The Maray signing reinforces Aberdeen Standard Investment’s strategy to offer a collection of Liverpool’s finest independents, for a competitive retail and leisure offering.

Co-founder of Maray, Tom White, said: “It’s a very exciting time for us – not just because we’re launching a third outlet but because it’s in the incredible setting of the prestigious Albert Dock.

“The build is really coming together now and we can’t wait to welcome guests old and new when we finally get to open our doors in a week’s time.”
