Popular pizza restaurant under the hammer in online auction

Andiamo restaurant

A popular Italian restaurant near Bolton is closing its doors and the building is to be sold by online auction.

Andiamo Restaurant, on Lower Leigh Road, Westhoughton, and which also features a luxurious modern apartment, is to be sold by SDL Auctions in partnership with Miller Metcalfe by conditional online auction with a starting bid of £345,000, ending at noon on Tuesday, July 23.

The restaurant, which is housed in a former pub, has two dining areas capable of handling 80 covers and a bar, along with a fully fitted industrial kitchen.

Within the grounds there are external storage units and there is parking for 20 vehicles at the rear.

Above the restaurant is a two-bed apartment, which has a separate entrance, an open plan living space and large outdoor terrace.

The property is to be sold with vacant possession and Jason Lee, national sales manager of SDL Auctions, says he is impressed by the standard of the accommodation on offer.

“The restaurant and the apartment are both decorated and fitted to a very high specification. The restaurant’s bright and fresh décor gives it a chic modern look which has proved popular with diners.

“A prominent feature of the restaurant is the ultra-modern mirrored bar, which was installed in 2015.”

He added: “Upstairs, the apartment has a glossy city hotel feel to it, with light and airy fittings, a spacious open plan living space and a sun terrace which is large enough to accommodate both a seating and a dining area and provides far-reaching views over the surrounding fields.”

He believes the property offers a variety of opportunities for the new owner.

“Naturally, the restaurant is the perfect property to be taken over by, or let to, new hosts, as the industrial kitchen is fully fitted, the layout is perfectly designed for diners and the apartment above provides comfortable accommodation for the owners or staff.

Living quarters

“Alternatively, the building could lend itself to a number of different commercial uses, or be converted to residential accommodation, subject to the necessary planning permissions.

“Any interested parties should make their own enquiries with the local planning authority before bidding,” he said.

Andiamo Restaurant sits in the centre of a triangle between Westhoughton, Atherton and Hindley Green, serving customers from all three communities and beyond.

It is a 20-minute drive from Bolton and a 45-minute drive into the centre of Manchester. Daisy Hill railway station is a 10-minute walk and runs trains to Manchester Victoria, Blackburn, Leeds, Kirkby and Southport.

Transport links are excellent, with the M61 a 10-minute drive away and Manchester International Airport a 20-mile journey by road.
