City’s newest restaurant opens its doors for business

Nico Simeone

Acclaimed Scottish-Italian chef Nico Simeone has this week opened his very first restaurant in England, as Six by Nico launches on Manchester’s Spring Gardens.

Chef Nico and his team will completely re-invent their food offering every six weeks, serving a brand new six-course tasting menu, each one themed around a different place, memory or idea.

Drawing inspiration from both home and abroad, the thought-provoking menus will combine different ingredients, flavours, and dishes, to create a brand new dining experience.

Foodies in Manchester will be treated to a completely new six course menu every six weeks, at the new location on Spring Gardens, with the first concept themed around the local chip shop.

Chef Nico Simeone said: “I have been working with my creative team over the past few months to bring Six by Nico to Manchester and my vision has finally become a reality.

“I’m really excited to bring my concept to Manchester, the first of my restaurants in England, as I love the city and I am looking forward to seeing the reaction from our diners.

“Six by Nico is a totally different dining experience and I hope that people will leave having had an unforgettable meal.”

From creative menu concepts to outstanding food and service, the venue aims to become an immediate hit with the people of Manchester.

More than 5,000 reservations have already been made in advance of doors opening this week.

The 66-cover restaurant will showcase its six-course tasting menu, priced at £29 per person, and with wine pairing priced at an additional £26.

‘The Chippie’ menu will kick-start the series of evolving concepts.

‘Six by Nico’ in Manchester will be the fourth addition to Nico’s growing restaurant portfolio, with award-winning venues including ‘111 by Nico’ and ‘Six by Nico’ already well embedded in Scotland and Northern Ireland’s restaurant scene.

The new Spring Gardens restaurant, occupying the former Roc & Rye site, will be the first in England replicating the concept of his Six by Nico restaurants in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast, and will be home to a series of carefully curated and constantly evolving menu concepts.

The concept was born in Glasgow in 2017 from a passion of experimenting with new ingredients and developing and creating unique dishes.

It will see a new six-course tasting menu introduced every six weeks, housed in a 72-cover restaurant with a wine and spirits bar.

An established name in Scotland and Northern Ireland, Six by Nico was founded in Glasgow in 2017 by talented Scottish-Italian chef Nico Simeone.

Commercial law firm Kuits has advised the restaurant on the licence for its Spring Gardens premises.

Anthony Lyons, Kuits joint head of licensing said: “Six by Nico is an exciting culinary concept and Kuits are delighted to have advised on their first opening in England.

“Securing a licence for such a prime city centre location will allow Nico and his team to showcase their talents in Manchester’s thriving food and drink scene, in what I’m sure will be a much-anticipated opening.”

Six by Nico opened at 60 Spring Gardens, Manchester on Monday 15 July.
