Audio production company launched by broadcasting stalwart

Chris Pegg

Former Key 103 programme director, Chris Pegg, has launched a new audio production company, called Listening Dog Media.

The team has more than 50 years of experience between them in radio and content, managing, producing and presenting at stations across the UK.

Recognising the increasing demand from listeners for interesting audio content, they set up the new Manchester-based company.

Chris Pegg, who’s long career has seen him manage local, regional and national stations including Metro Radio, Key 103 and Hits Radio, heads up the business.

He said: “In the history of media there has never been more change than there is right now.

“The growth of smart speakers, in-car connectivity, and mobile devices are all changing how listeners are consuming their audio.

“Listeners want quality audio entertainment on demand.

“All the research I have seen over the last 18 months points to listeners wanting more than just a streaming service of music. They want content that they can engage with, that makes them makes them laugh, marvel or understand.”

He added: “Listening Dog Media is built on creativity, developing audio entertainment that give advertisers new ways of reaching their consumers in an increasingly targeted way, while giving listeners some creative and original entertainment, free from the shackles of radio convention.”

The team is already producing two successful podcasts in The Hot Mess Mums Club and Speak Skin, both of which chart regularly on iTunes in their respective categories.

The latest plans include the launch of a new weekly podcast with former footballer and TalkSport presenter Stan Collymore.
